Introduction to VERBS !

Like English language the Spanish language also contains verbs. There are a large number of verbs in Spanish.

Types of Verbs-

On the basis of their ending, verbs are classified into 3 types that are –

• AR Ending eg. Hablar
• ER Ending eg. Comer
• IR Ending eg. Escribir

These are further divided as –

• Regular : Have a regular series of conjugation
• Irregular : Have irregular series of conjugation
• Stem-changing : certain letter change to other letter in conjugation

Verbs are conjugated with respect to the person for example lets take the verb Hablar-to speak its conjugtion is –

• Yo(self/I) = Hablo
• Tu(You) = Hablas
• El/ella/usted (he/she/you formal) = habla
• nosotros(we all) = hablamos
• vosotros(you all) = hablais
• ellos/ellas/ustedes (they/you all formal) = hablan
