La Hora – Time In Spanish | Part 1 In this post I am going to talk about how we ask or tell the time in Spanish. I will also tell how we use time in daily sentences and its application. In this post I will tell how to ask and tell time, and how to say the current time in Spanish. In part 2 i.e. next post, I will tell how to ask and answer questions based on time and how to apply it in sentences and how to tell whether its PM or AM. Let’s start In Spanish time is expressed using the verbs Ser or Tener Ttime in Spanish is always feminine. We use ‘y’ for and, ‘media’ for half and ‘menos’ for less For quarter , we use ” cuarto “. To ask time, we say ¿Que hora es? or ¿Que hora tienes? To answer for example, 1o’ clock we say – Es la una en punto. Many examples of this are given in the pictures below.                           Costa Rica Costa Rica is located in Central America and is a part of Latin America. Its official name is Republic of Costa Rica. Its capital is San José. It has a population of 4,755,234 people with an area of 51,100 square kilometers. Its official languages are Spanish and English. Costa Rica is committed to preserving the beauty and diversity of the country through the development of national parks. One fifth of the country is covered in forests. The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is the largest cloud forest in Central America.  There are over 200 species of reptiles, most of which are snakes. There are many brightly colored toads and frogs, including the poison arrow frog. The country is also home to hundreds of mammals including bats, and insects, such as vibrant butterflies and leaf-cutter ants. Its major mountains are Cordillera Volcanica and the Cordillera de Talamanca . The currency used is Costa Rican colon.
